Reader Response #6: Find a Poet

The Author that I have choosen to talk about is Maya Angelou. This poem does have a title but i didnt see one on the website. Heres the poem that she wrote." Dead Babies, Dead BabiesDead Ladies, Dead Ladies Where are our healthy young men? DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD open your eyes to the beauty of war War produces rebirth and jobs death=life so kill all puppies and elderly this is how you remind me, of what I really am. MEAN God bless our fighting men-women." I think that this poem made a good understanding for the fighting women and fighting men that are trying to change their lives around. Like young men and young women now those really don’t have anything or anyone because of how they just want to mess their life’s up. It is saying that most of our young men today are messing their lives up over drugs and being in gangs thinking that skipping school and just letting their education go is just right. This is what I am seeing everyday like people that is in my family they are all tryna make it and its like we just don’t have much help. But some people just have to help their self out and stop thinking that everything is just going to come to them like when they are babies and they think they can get anything and think everything in life is free. You have to work to get what you want in this lifetime and I think that I am doing a very good job at it.
